As the Vans Warped Tour 2013 moves into entering its 19th year, making the tour the longest running music tour in history and definitely one to watch when it comes to youth culture trends, sponsorship, and up-and-coming artists, it’s undergone a variety of interesting themes, including Punks In Space, Lucky 13, Island of the Misfit Toys, and Summer Road Trip. Warped has announced for 2013, the new theme, and corresponding merch and poster contests to be “The Best Day Ever!”
Along with this announcement, is the upcoming reality TV series of 10 shows called Warped Roadies debuting on Fuse TV starting December 7, 2012, at 11 p.m. EST. Warped Roadies is a new original half-hour reality series about the Vans Warped Tour, documenting the lives of the charismatic and unruly roadies who are charged with the daily set up and break down of the 2012 Vans Warped Tour. The series will run through February documenting all of the drama and challenges faced by the crew that keeps the tour rolling as it travels across the country with more than 60 bands.
Dates for the tour for the 2013 Vans Warped Tour have also been released, with the kick-off starting on June 15th in Seattle, WA and ending on August 4th in Houston, TX. Bands on the tour will start being announced December 7, 2012. Given the wide range of new music often on this tour, it’s a great introduction to what may break-out bigtime in 2013.
Tickets go on sale starting December 7, 2012, which marks an unprecedented early date for summer 2013 ticket sales—a growing tactic among many other music festivals and tours as event ticket sales continue to be a main source of revenue for the music industry, prompting more musicians than ever to hit the road.
