Big-Wave Surfing Taken to New Limits as Jaws Gets Ski-Surfed Instead of Surfed-Surfed
No slouch to backcountry big-mountain riding, Chuck Patterson from Tahoe has also done his fair share of big-wave tow-in surfing.
Recently, Patterson caught the monster swells at Jaws which only peak off Maui during winter’s big-wave season, but instead of surfing it, he skied it using two big fat ski planks, ski boots, bindings, and yes poles.
This new ski-surf category sounds like a potential explosion for crossover watersports and ski enthusiasts, somewhat like SUP (Stand-up Paddle) has taken-off for surfers and kayakers and others interested in water sports in general.
