AGENDA Trade Show has added yet another element to their expansion plans, with the announcement today, April 1, 2013, of hiring on Vanessa Chiu, the former Insight Marketing Manager, as Director of Women’s Sales and Marketing. Chiu joins AGENDA on the heels of the announcement that the show will be expanding its reach to include Las Vegas this fall as part of Modern Assembly.
According to Agenda, Chiu is tasked with cultivating the female perspective at the increasingly expanding shows. Her addition to the team represents AGENDA Founder Aaron Levant’s recognition of the shifting culture in the industry—with an ever-growing number of female-centric brands, athletes and enthusiasts. Chiu, who spent eight years with the Australian surf/lifestyle brand Insight, most recently as head of marketing and PR for the U.S. division, will focus on aligning strategic partnerships with women’s brands and nurturing a more female-focused experience at AGENDA’s three bi-annual shows in Long Beach, New York and Las Vegas.
“I’ve known Aaron and the AGENDA team since the beginning and I’ve watched as they’ve grown to become the number one show for this cross-sector of the industry.” Chiu said. “It makes absolute sense that AGENDA expand to incorporate the women’s category as a next step in their domination, and I’m excited to use my muscle to curate a platform for women’s brands to tell their stories at each show.”
Chiu will also lead the effort to create a cross-section where brands can use AGENDA as a multi-purpose vehicle to illustrate their individual point-of-difference. Her vision includes a digital platform that will become a destination point for broadcasting marketing messages and hosting creative.
